Annie Leibovitz
This is Annie Leibovitz, probably one of the most famous portrait photographers ever. Her work is so inspirational and unique. Her randomness and clever sense of art is so amazing to me. Annie was born October 2, 1949. She started out taking art classes in San Francisco at the art institute and then began taking night photography classes. She was doing photography for The Rolling Stone magazine in 1970 and then became chief photographer in 1973. When she left she had shot 142 covers over her 10 years. She got a job for Vanity Fair and Vogue in 1988. In 1991, Annie's collection of over 200 color and black-and-white
photos were shown at the National Portrait Gallery in
Washington, D.C. She was the first woman to do so. “I’ve learned to create a palette, a vocabulary of ways to take
pictures,” Leibovitz explains. “What has stayed true all the way through
my work is my composition, I hope, and my sense of color.”
I really love this picture because of the way that Annie has captured her in motion and also catching her emotion. It looks as if the woman is completely frozen in time and she looks so happy. The background with the building and plane are perfect.
This picture is really amazing. They're sisters and I love the way she has captured them together. The black and white shows a lot of emotion; compared to what it would be with color.
This picture is SOOO COOL! I love how they incorporated the lizard into the photo. This picture probably took quite a bit of time an patience.

Panorama
I really enjoy this picture because the setting is very beautiful. This picture was taken in Waikiki Hawaii. It makes you want to just jump through the picture.
This picture is so amazing to me in the way that the sky is so blue and the sun is setting on the horizon. It makes you feel as if you're actually there.

Found Faces
It was in the late 80's when I moved from my cozy home in Oklahoma, to the small town of Newberg, Oregon. My family had been suffering from what is known as trashysyndrome. Trashysyndrome is a disease where you get very ill after too many kids being thrown inside of you. It was a very tragic experience and I'm glad to be away from it all. Now, I suppose I should tell you my name and what I do with my life. My name is Billy Joe Bob Gillford Franklin the 1st and I'm a trash can. Just in case you couldn't already tell. I help out the janitors at the school nearby and then go home to my wonderful family of 70. You're probably wondering where I'm going with this story and no it's not just an excuse for me to talk about how amazingly wonderful and talented I am, it actually has a point.
So one rainy day around 5, the janitor had just taken me out to the front of the school to be picked up by the trash man; little did he know I was not alone. Someone earlier had thrown a kid into me and he had been knocked unconscious. I never got the full story of how it happened only small bits here and there when he came through and was talking to himself. His name was Brody and he had been being bullied for a few months now. The bullies would always take his lunch money and when he tried to fight them to get it back they would throw him in the nearest trash can. This time it had gone a little too far.
Brody had been walking outside of school and figured that everyone would have left since it was an hour after school got out. He had nearly gotten to the gate when 4 guys came up and threw him against the gate asking for his money. Brody told them he had already given them all his money and had none left; of course they didn't believe him. They decided to scare him a bit and pretend to punch him when Brody tried to run away he slipped on a banana peel and fell and hit his head. The boys had no idea what to do so they picked him up and threw him into the nearest trash can; me. It threw me for a loop because I was just in the middle of a deep sleep. Not long after the big trash truck came and I did everything in my power to wake him up. He finally came through and started to mutter a bunch of what happened and then stumbled out.
I will never forget that day and everything Brody had told me. I didn't want him to know that my hidden talent was talking because that would only make his story less believeable. I never knew how his story ended and whether or not those boys got what they deserved but at least I know I made a friend; sort of.
